Explore Riverland Dubai: A Journey Through Time and Culture

Riverland Dubai, part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, is a destination that takes visitors on a journey through time and culture. Featuring four different zones, each inspired by iconic eras and regions around the world, this themed dining, shopping and entertainment hub has something to keep the whole family entertained.

Discover Riverland Dubai

In order to get to the theme parks located within Dubai Parks and Resorts, visitors must pass through Riverland Dubai, which is the perfect gateway to take a journey through time and culture. Riverland is split into four distinct themed areas: India Gate, French Village, Boardwalk and The Peninsula, each reflecting a different historical era. Each of the zones is spread along a 1k-long manmade river and is connected by bridges and scenic riverside walkways.

French Village

Riverland Dubai’s French Village area will transport you back to 16th-century France, with cobbled pathways and stone bridges. The “town square” has a working water wheel, and as you wander through the quaint alleyways, classical French music from the speakers sets the tone.

The Peninsula

This large outdoor space is right in the heart of Riverland. The location of all festivals and concerts, the 19th-century architecture transports you right back to those times in industrial England. Being the only licensed spot in Riverland, this area is popular for its waterside restaurants and central plaza area for festivals.

Boardwalk

The Boardwalk is home to the portrayal of 1950s urban American street life, and with casual diner-style eateries and live performances amongst the palm trees, it is a popular spot for families to spend some time. Leading up to Motiongate Park, the Boardwalk is decorated with neon signs that will transport you back to a time in which Elvis Presley’s hits were filling the streets.

India Gate

A nod to the colorful streets of 1920s India, Riverland’s India Gate gives visitors a Royal Asian welcome with live performers such as acrobats and musicians. This area is particularly fascinating as you can often catch traditional Indian drummers. India Gate also has a variety of Middle Eastern and Asian-inspired eateries for the whole family to enjoy.

The most convenient way to get to Riverland Dubai is by car, with ample (and free) parking available on-site.

If you’d rather use public transport, Bus DPR1 runs a direct route to the parks from Ibn Battuta Station.

Riverland Dubai is open from 10am-10pm Sunday-Thursday and 10am-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Be sure to stay into the evening for more live entertainment and performances!

Riverland Dubai Entrance Fee

When we went, Riverland Dubai tickets were 15 AED per person, but they were redeemable against food and beverage outlets within the park. However, the Riverland website now states that tickets are 25 AED per person and are not redeemable. Be sure to ask when you get to the park, but this may be a seasonal thing and only applicable for certain months of the year!

Is Riverland Dubai Worth a Visit?

Riverland Dubai is a charming spot to explore while visiting Dubai Parks and Resorts. While enjoyable, we personally don’t think it is a full-day destination, but it is a great addition to relax, dine or stroll between visits to the other resort’s theme parks. The different zones make it a unique experience. Our favourite was the French Village; it really made you feel like stepping into Europe while being in the middle of the UAE. It’s a great blend of culture and leisure, and definitely worth a visit!
